Lexus takes Melbourne Cup to the next level
11/10/2010
Lexus Australia has literally taken its marquee to the next level for this year's 150th Melbourne Cup Carnival by adding a third level to its iconic Birdcage hospitability suite.
The third level, dubbed the Sky Deck, will include an open-air observation deck, complete with lounge and hospitality area, giving Lexus' guests unparalleled views of Flemington Race Course and the horse racing.
Lexus became the first company to offer a two-storey corporate hospitality suite in the iconic Birdcage enclosure in 2007.
The addition of the third level in 2010 coincides with Lexus' increased commitment to the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
The company will supply vehicles for the Melbourne Cup Parade and will feature as a major sponsor of the 2010 Myer Fashions on the Field.
Lexus also enters its second year as principal sponsor for the major fund-raising event supporting the Melbourne Cup Community Fund's Pin and Win competition.
Prizes for the Myer Fashions on the Field include a brand new Lexus IS 250C convertible for Women's Racewear, and the use of a Lexus vehicle for one year for Men's Racewear and the Design Awards winners.
The major prize for the Pin and Win competition includes a new Lexus IS 350 F Sports sedan.
Lexus' increased commitment comes after eight years involvement with the Melbourne Cup Carnival and coincides with the 150th running of the Melbourne Cup.
Lexus chief executive Tony Cramb said Lexus' increased presence and commitment to the Melbourne Cup Carnival was a result of the strong relationship Lexus had formed with the Victorian Racing Club (VRC).
"Lexus' increased support is not only strategic, it also demonstrates the value we place on long-term partnerships - much like the way we treat our customers," Mr Cramb said.
"Each of Lexus' guests will be transported to and from Flemington in a Lexus, be treated to a menu designed by renowned chef Neil Perry, and enjoy views of Flemington unmatched by any other vantage point.
"In true Lexus style, we have gone the extra mile to look after our guests and our customers," said Mr Cramb.
