Lexus revs up pin and win 2010 with IS 350
25/10/2010
Lexus Australia will celebrate the arrival of its first all-new IS 350 F Sport sedan in Australia by donating it to the Melbourne Cup Community Fund, which this year benefits Mission Australia.
The company will offer the first IS 350 F Sport in Australia as the major prize in the Melbourne Cup Community Fund's 2010 Pin and Win Competition.
The IS 350 will feature a high-output 3.5-litre V6 engine developing more than 233kW and 378Nm of torque.
Funds for the charity will be raised through the purchase of lapel pins, which then entitle the purchaser to enter the major draw for the IS 350 F Sport.
Last year Lexus, in conjunction with the Melbourne Cup Community Fund, raised more than $400,000 for the Olivia Newton John Cancer and Wellness Centre.
This year Lexus and the Fund are aiming to raise over half a million dollars for Mission Australia.
Pins can be purchased directly from the charity's website, through participating outlets, and at the 2010 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Lexus chief executive Tony Cramb said Lexus was proud to be involved with Mission Australia as part of the Pin and Win competition.
"Last year, with a Lexus IS 250 convertible on offer, over $400,000 was raised for the benefiting charity. This year our goal is half a million," Mr Cramb said.
"Lexus' support of the Melbourne Cup Carnival is more than just hospitality ? it's our opportunity to engage our customers, dealers and suppliers. It also gives us a platform from which to support charitable activities such as the Melbourne Cup Community Fund."
Mission Australia chief executive Toby Hall said the organisation was delighted by the support shown by the Melbourne Cup Community Fund and Lexus.
"Mission Australia couldn't ask for more in terms of support. The Lexus will be a fantastic drawcard for this year's fundraiser, and we are very excited about our involvement with the Community Fund.
"We hope all Melburnians will get behind Pin and Win and buy a lapel pin during the Melbourne Cup Carnival to help disadvantaged young Victorians."
