Lexus Australia announces recall of RX 400h vehicles

30/06/2011
Lexus Australia has initiated a vehicle safety recall on RX 400h vehicles produced from 1 to 7 August 2006 as part of a global recall.

A total of 17 RX 400h vehicles are involved in Australia.

Condition:
On some vehicles, the transistors on the control board located inside the inverter assembly may not have been properly soldered. If this has occurred, the large electrical current that flows during high-load driving, such as driving up a hill or accelerating quickly, may damage the transistors.

Situation:
There have been no cases of the condition reported in Australia for RX 400h vehicles. There have been no accidents or injuries associated with this condition.

Next steps:
This safety recall is a preventative action. Customers can continue to drive their vehicles. Lexus Australia will contact affected RX 400h owners by phone and mail in July, advising them to make an appointment with their preferred Lexus Dealer. This recall activity will be conducted free of charge.
