Lexus shows CT 200h Concept
Features unique styling and performance options, including 18-inch alloys and lowered suspension
Draws inspiration from 2.4L hybrid CT competing in the Nurburgring 24 Hour endurance race
Lexus Australia has taken the wraps off a CT 200h Concept, inspired by a modified CT that competed in the gruelling Nurburgring 24 Hour endurance race.
Shown at the Australian International Motor Show for just two days, the concept features unique suspension, wheels, quad exhaust, unique body kit and rear diffuser.
Due to its modified suspension, the CT 200h Concept rides 20mm lower than the standard CT 200h, with unique polished 18-inch alloys completing the racing look.
Front lip spoilers add to the vehicle's overall aerodynamic package, while the rear diffuser calms air flow exiting the vehicle.
Polished quad exhausts add visual muscle to the rear of the CT Concept, while also boosting exhaust note.
Lexus Australia chief executive Tony Cramb said the CT 200h Concept will be used to gauge public reaction to the visual and performance enhancements to the car.
"The Australian International Motor Show gives us the perfect opportunity to engage with potential customers and assess their reaction," said Mr Cramb.
"There are elements of the CT 200h Concept that are currently under evaluation by Lexus for introduction into the local market."
The CT 200h Concept draws inspiration from a 2.4-litre hybrid-powered CT that has competed in several Nurburgring races under the watchful eye of Gazoo racing.
The larger power plant replaces the 1.8-litre hybrid power plant available in road-going CT 200h's.
