A STUNNING EVOLUTION
Enhancements more than skin deep
A compelling new incarnation of Lexus' popular luxury hybrid hatch, the CT 200h, has been unveiled and features dynamic new styling, improved body structure, revised suspension and new specification. An already appealing vehicle has now become even more desirable.
Lexus Australia Chief Executive, Sean Hanley, said, "The changes to the CT 200h are more than skin deep. The depth of improvements go right to the heart of the model, improving its overall dynamic capabilities, driveability and visual appeal."
Launching in the first half of 2014, the new-look CT 200h reinforces Lexus' commitment to delivering head-turning design and driving dynamics that offer pure enjoyment.
A more refined, comfortable drive
Lexus engineers have focused on enhancing the performance of the CT 200h by increasing body rigidity, modifying the suspension and making the vehicle more aerodynamic. As well, an impressive 94 separate measures have been implemented to reduce noise, vibration and harshness. The end result is a more refined, comfortable driving experience and an even quieter cabin. A traction control off switch has also been added for greater control.
Design that cannot be ignored
The distinctive Lexus spindle grille has been introduced to the CT 200h, with the centre pushed forward to create a bold three-dimensional form. The bottom corners of the grille are spaced wider and the spindle 'pinch point' has been lowered, emphasising the CT 200h's low front profile and reinforcing the fact that this striking vehicle is incredibly fun to drive.
Newly developed 10 spoke, 16" and 17" alloy wheels, new shark fin-style roof antenna and a new rear bumper design all add to the CT 200h's sporty design.
Highly sophisticated interior
From greater comfort levels to new technological inclusions, the new-look CT 200h offers the driver an experience that stands apart from other luxury hatches. A new steering wheel, matching that of the new IS sedans, is where the improvements start. From there, the Optitron instrument binnacle is now available with an integral 4.2" TFT (Thin Film Transistor) screen which can be linked to the multimedia system and conveniently controlled via steering wheel-mounted switches.
The second generation Remote Touch Interface (RTI) features a new, more user-friendly push-to-enter control switch. The navigation system, meanwhile, features added functions, improved operability and enhanced hands-free and voice recognition control.
Expect even greater clarity of sound in the CT 200h's audio system thanks to the adoption of the world's first bamboo loudspeaker technology. Bamboo fibre, plant opal and charcoal are combined in an injection moulding process to create the industry's thinnest loudspeaker diaphragm, resulting in noticeably improved sound quality.
New door panel inserts, upholstery design and trim colours complete the sophisticated picture.
F Sport's powerful road presence
The already exciting new-look CT 200h is given
performance-inspired design enhancements in the
F Sport model, delivering a more powerful road presence. The spindle grille features an aggressive mesh pattern while 10 spoke, 17" dark finish alloy wheels are also unique to the F Sport.
A two tone colour scheme puts an individual spin on this variant, with black-roofed F Sport models available in a choice of eight exterior colours including the new Caliente Red and F Sport exclusive White Nova.
Inside, you'll find upgraded F Sport upholstery, aluminium pedals and scuff plates, a perforated leather accented steering wheel, dimpled leather accented shift lever, and F SPORT badging.
Meanwhile, driving dynamics are given a sporting boost with bespoke coil spring settings and optimised front/rear roll rigidity distribution.
