Step inside the IS 350 and you're surrounded by safety. Eight SRS airbags deploy intelligently, while integrated safety technologies help you maintain traction and avoid accidents.

Eight SRS airbags

Eight SRS airbags as standard on the IS 350 help reduce collision impact for greater peace of mind. Driver and front passengers have dual stage front airbags, front seat side airbags and knee airbags to help protect lower limbs. Rear seat side airbags and full length side curtain-shield airbags help protect the rear outer passengers.

Advanced safety systems management

The IS 350 includes Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM), a breakthrough system which can anticipate and help prevent instability and loss of traction, especially on slippery corners. VDIM integrates the comprehensive package of safety technologies in the IS 350, which includes the Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control.

Pre-collision safety (PCS)1

The Lexus Pre-Collision safety System (PCS)1 in the IS 350 Sports Luxury model helps you avoid accidents and can help reduce injury and damage where an impact is unavoidable. The PCS is assisted by a radar sensor, which monitors the distance of the vehicle from objects ahead.

If the PCS determines a collision is likely, the Multi-Information Display (MID) shows a visual warning and an alarm is sounded, while Brake Assist is armed to help prepare for emergancy braking. If PCS determines the driver has not started braking yet and a collision is unavoidable, the system automatically applies Pre-Collision Braking to help lessen the impact.

Active Cruise Control (ACC)2

In addition to conventional cruise control, the IS 350 Sports Luxury model features a vehicle-to-vehicle distance technology known as Active Cruise Control (ACC)2. Pre-set your preferred cruising speed and distance from the car in front using touch controls on the steering wheel.

This speed will be maintained until the radar detects another vehicle in the lane ahead. ACC will reduce speed accordingly, and even apply the brakes if necessary to help you slow down. Your nominated speed is resumed once a safe following distance can be maintained.
