SAFETY
Pre-Collision safety
A Pre-Collision safety System (PCS)1 in the LX 570 Sports Luxury aims to reduce injury and damage by using pre-emptive and harm-minimisation strategies where an impact is determined to be unavoidable. These strategies include Adaptive Variable Suspension, which minimises vehicle pitching under heavy braking.
If a collision is determined to be unavoidable, PCS will first alert the driver with visual and audible cues and pre-arm Brake Assist. If the driver brakes, Brake Assist will offer support by increasing the driver's own brake effort. If the driver does not brake, PCS will pre-arm Brake Assist and Pre-tension the seatbelts in preparation for the collision.
Active Cruise Control keeps your distance
In addition to conventional cruise control, the LX 570 Sports Luxury features a vehicle-to-vehicle distance technology known as Active Cruise Control (ACC)2 Pre-set your preferred cruising speed and this speed will be maintained until the radar detects another vehicle in your path.
ACC will reduce speed accordingly, and will even apply the brakes if necessary. Your nominated speed is resumed once a safe following distance can be maintained.
Rigid body structure and impact-absorbing frame
The LX 570 is built on a high tensile steel frame incorporating an energy absorbing front section, along with front crumple zones in the body panels, designed to absorb impact energy during a frontal collision. High tensile steel reinforcements around the cabin help ensure a rigid body structure for greater occupant protection.
The reassurance of 10 SRS airbags
For front seat occupants, the LX 570 has two stage front airbags and knee airbags. Whiplash-lessening front seats with active headrests help reduce the risk of neck injury. Seat-mounted side airbags in the first and second row, and side curtain-shield airbags in all three rows, help protect the outer occupants in the event of a side collision.
Multi Terrain Anti-lock Braking System
The EBD system adjusts braking effort applied to each wheel to compensate for changes in vehicle load. When cornering in wet or slippery conditions, Vehicle Stability Control adjusts the brakes, engine output and steering system to help avoid loss of control and maintain your chosen line around the corner.

Footnotes
1. PCS is a driver assist technology and should not be used in
place of safe driving practices. The driver should continue to
monitor the road ahead.
2. ACC is a driver assist technology and should not be used in
place of safe driving practices. The driver should continue to
monitor the road ahead.
3. Rear View Camera is designed as a driver assist device only and
should not be used as a substitute for skilled driving and safe
parking practices. The area into which the vehicle is to be
reversed must be visually monitored by the driver while parking.
