LEXUS DOMINATES LUXURY RESALE RATINGS

Lexus vehicles have dominated the luxury car segment of a Wheels magazine/ RedBook survey of resale values.

The Lexus LS 430 topped the luxury car category of Resale Ratings 2002 which appears in Wheels' May edition, with a resale value after three years of 66 percent of its original list price.

It beat the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Jaguar X-type and BMW 3-Series ranges.

Lexus models accounted for four of the top 10 resale value results in the luxury class, more than any other manufacturer.

The Lexus IS 300 and Lexus GS 300 both attained a resale percentage of 63 percent, while the Lexus IS 200 achieved 61 percent.

The Lexus SC 430 finished a close second in the convertible category with a resale percentage of 72 percent of its original price after three years.

"Lexus has worked very hard at building quality and value into the marque for over a decade, and the results published in the Wheels survey show that it has paid off," said John Roca, national manager - Lexus Australia.

"Resale value is a very important consideration for buyers, particularly in the luxury car market, so it's encouraging to see that Lexus has achieved great success in this area across five models."

The survey published in Wheels was conducted by respected motor industry valuer RedBook.
