LEXUS BREAKTHROUGH AT AIMS
Lexus has shown the world's first production performance hybrid SUV, its new IS250 luxury sports sedan and a striking hardtop convertible concept vehicle at the Australian International Motor Show. The LF-C hardtop convertible is the third Lexus concept vehicle to be shown in Australia, again showcasing Lexus' bold styling language known as L-Finesse.
Its characteristic sleek lines can be seen in the Lexus GS300/430 line launched earlier this year, and are evident in the all-new IS250 sedan to be launched in November.
Debuted in Australia at the show, the Lexus IS250 is set to seriously challenge the mid luxury market and draw new consumers to the luxury sector.
A ground-up redesign of the popular IS line, the dynamic V6-powered luxury sports sedan will be available in three variants and will offer Lexus-style comfort, sports dynamics, technology and an all-new powertrain.
Lexus hybrid technology represents the future for the brand. No-compromise engineering epitomises the GS450h - the world's first high-performance luxury sports sedan - which will be available in Australia in the first quarter of 2006.
The powerful RX400h - world's first luxury hybrid SUV - is being displayed alongside the Lexus range.
The recently-upgraded hardtop convertible V8 Lexus SC430 - featuring adaptive headlights, new wheels and a redesigned grille - also went on show.
