
LEXUS SETS EIGHTH RECORD MONTH OF SALES
Lexus Australia has set its eighth record month for vehicle sales in 2007.According to the latest VFACTS figures released today, Lexus sold a total of 648 vehicles for September - almost 29 per cent more than the same period last year.
The marque's IS and RX Lines once again drove sales, with IS 250 sales growing by 20 per cent on year-to-date figures.
Lexus' standout performer was flagship LS Line, which topped sales in the upper large over $100,000 segment.
LS Line was 36 per cent ahead of its nearest rival, accounting for 30 vehicles in the month of September.
Lexus hybrids also continued to sell strongly, with RX 400h topping hybrid sales and accounting for almost 20 per cent of overall RX sales.
Lexus chief executive John Roca said Lexus has consistently grown from strength to strength in 2007.
"Lexus has continued to break its own sales records and, with further new models on their way, the trend is set to continue," he said.
"Eight record months in 2007 is a fantastic result for Lexus. In fact, LS sales have been a major highlight for us the past few months.
"Consumer demand for quality vehicles and Lexus' reputation for superior service and sales support have been the major factors driving sales.
"Lexus' point of difference is that the customer is at the heart of everything we do.
"Each Lexus owner feels part of the Lexus family.
"October sees Lexus launch our L'Exhibition sales event and we're sure that, by November, we will have welcomed even more people to the Lexus family."
