HYBRID AND SAFETY DRIVE LEXUS SUV SALES

Lexus Australia has posted its best-ever April sales figure of 853 vehicles, according to April VFACTS figures.

The record result was driven by sales of the Lexus RX SUV and the all-new LX 570 luxury off-roader, together accounting for 54 per cent of the total sales.

The LX 570 Sports Luxury and RX 400h models were the stellar performers for the month, with RX 400h posting its best-ever month of sales and the LX 570 Sports Luxury accounting for 95 per cent of all LX sales.

Sales of both models were driven by consumers looking for the latest technology in the form of Lexus’ unique hybrid drive technology and industry-leading safety inclusions on the LX 570.

Recently launched, the LX 570 features an innovative Wide View Blind-spot monitor* that affords drivers an unrivalled view of the vehicle’s exterior, enabling them to negotiate tight spaces or monitor the vehicle’s exterior at low speed.

Lexus Australia chief executive John Roca said the result confirms Lexus’ position as one of the world’s most innovative luxury vehicle marques.

"Lexus has always been at the forefront of vehicle design and engineering," Mr Roca said.

"The Lexus SUV range is a prime example of our efforts to offer technology that is of use and benefit to drivers.

"Lexus was the first to offer reversing camera technology as standard on a vehicle in Australia with the RX 330, and the new Wide View Blind-spot monitor on the LX 570 continues to push Lexus’ safety message," he said.
