LEXUS IS 250 EXCEEDS 10,000 NATIONAL SALES
Lexus has sold its 10,000th IS 250 luxury sedan in Australia.
The milestone has been achieved after just 32 months on sale, establishing the IS 250 as the most in-demand Lexus of all time in Australia.
Globally, demand for the IS 250 has now exceeded 250,000.
IS 250 is also the platform for major future development of the Lexus vehicle line-up.
The first of these models will be the high performance IS F sedan due in Australia later this year.
The IS F, which has been completely re-engineered, will feature a newly developed 5.0-litre quad-cam V8 engine and a high performance eight-speed sequential gearbox.
The IS 250 Prestige is available in Australia at a recommended retail price of $56,990, which comes in below the level set for the Luxury Car Tax.
It is equipped with eight supplementary restraint air bags, including the world's first twin-chamberfront passenger SRSairbag.
All IS 250 models are equipped with Lexus’ 2.5-litre quad-cam V6 which develops 153kW of power, 252Nm of torque and delivers exceptional fuel economy of 9.1 litres/100kmsin the Automatic.*
IS 250 claimed Australia’s Best Prestige Car for the second year in succession at the 2007 Australia's Best Car Awards.
"It is not really appropriate to describe IS 250 as an entry level luxury vehicle – although it has been a platform for owners to move upwards in the Lexus range," said Lexus Australia chief executive John Roca.
"The IS 250 has developed its own status and customer following.
"Many owners regard IS 250 as their ultimate choice.”
IS 250 is currently available in near fully-equipped sub-luxury tax form, or as a Sports or Sports Luxury version with differentrims, trim and suspension specification.
The only option available on the highly specified IS 250 Sports Luxury is the addition of a moon-roof.
