LEXUS SELLS ITS 50,000TH VEHICLE IN AUSTRALIA
Lexus has sold its 50,000th vehicle in Australia, cementing the brand’s position as one of Australia’s most popular Luxury vehicle brands. The 50,000th vehicle, a Lexus RX 400h is the world’s first hybrid SUV. It combines a powerful six-cylinder engine with Lexus’ unique hybrid drive system to deliver what Lexus have dubbed "guilt free performance". The milestone follows on from Lexus’ best ever sales results in 2007 and the sales of the 1000th Lexus performance hybrid in Australia. Lexus Australia, chief executive John Roca said that the milestone was testament to brand’s strength in Australia. "50,000 vehicles sold in Australia is a fantastic achievement and testament to the strength of the Lexus brand in Australia," said Mr Roca. "The fact that our 50,000th vehicle was a Lexus performance hybrid also reinforces the importance of hybrid technology, not just for Lexus, but for consumers in cities all over the world," "The milestone also represents the strength of our dealership network and the hard work they put into making Lexus the strong brand it is today," said Mr Roca. "Like our vehicles, our service and the way we treat each and every Lexus customer is second to none," "50,000 vehicles is just the beginning, this year sees Lexus add some exciting new products while expanding our dealer network," said Roca.
