LEXUS ANNOUNCES SAFETY RECALL - CT 200h

Lexus Australia has announced a recall of approximately 4,600 CT 200h vehicles built between October 2008 and February 2015.

The recall is due to the possibility that a crack may develop on the fuel suction plate assembled to the fuel tank.

If this occurs, the crack could expand over time and fuel may eventually leak when the vehicle has a full tank of petrol.

Fuel or fuel vapour in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of a vehicle fire.

There have been no reported cases in Australia involving Lexus vehicles.

Once parts become available Lexus Australia will contact all affected vehicle owners by mail to advise them to make an appointment at their preferred Lexus dealer.

For all affected vehicles, Lexus dealers will remove, disassemble and replace the fuel suction plate.

The repair will take approximately two hours to complete and will be carried out free of charge.

Note:
1. Although the involved vehicles are within the above VIN ranges, not all vehicles in these VIN ranges were sold in the Australian market

2. (#) indicates additional check digit (alpha or numeric) sold in Australia
