Lexus has won the highest award for customer service excellence in the automotive industry from leading market research company Roy Morgan for the second year in a row.

The luxury carmaker again led a prestigious field to win the Car Manufacturer category of the 2015 Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards.

It is the third time in five years that Lexus has achieved the accolade.

Data for the customer satisfaction awards are based on Roy Morgan Research's Single Source Survey, which collects detailed information from approximately 50,000 Australians over the past 12 months.

This survey covers drivers of both new and used vehicles and applies to all ownership periods. Roy Morgan Research named Lexus as the winner in its category after it won the most number of months for customer satisfaction in 2015.

Lexus Australia chief executive Peter McGregor said the brand was unflinching in its dedication to providing the highest levels of customer service.

"We are grateful for awards that recognise Lexus' customer service, particularly from the prestigious Roy Morgan Research company with its very informative Single Source Survey," Mr McGregor said.

"Customer service is, after all, the foundation of the Lexus business - we strive every day to provide satisfaction to our highly valued guests."

Lexus has achieved success in numerous customer service awards worldwide since the brand was founded in 1989.

Last year it was named the leading automotive brand in the influential American Customer Satisfaction Index, beating major luxury competitors to the title.
