The reassurance of 10 airbags
The RX 450h surrounds you with protection, including dual stage front SRS airbags, side airbags for the front and rear seats, knee airbags and side curtain-shield airbags. On the front passenger's side is a dual chamber airbag, which secures the passenger's upper body to help disperse the physical impact. Knee airbags prevent the driver and front passenger from slipping under the seatbelt, reducing the risk of lower limb injury.

Pre-collision safety
The Lexus Pre-Collision safety System (PCS)3 in the RX 450h Sports and Sports Luxury models helps you avoid collisions and can help reduce injury and damage where impact is unavoidable.
The PCS is assisted by a radar sensor embedded in the front grille, which monitors the distance of the RX 450h from vehicles ahead. If the PCS determines a collision is highly likely, it will alert the driver via a visual indicator and buzzer sound. If the driver brakes, brake assist will operate to supplement braking force.
If the driver does not brake and PCS determines a collision is unavoidable, pre-crash seatbelts will be activated retracting the driver and front passenger seat belts. If the driver still does not brake, pre-crash braking will automatically apply the brakes in an effort to reduce collision speed.
Active headrests
To help support your head in rear end collisions, the driver and front passenger seat headrests are designed to move up and forward, providing effective head support and reducing the effects of whiplash injuries.
