LEXUS RC PERFORMANCE

LEXUS RC PERFORMANCE

RC 300 model shown

RC 300: TURBOCHARGED PERFORMANCE

RC 300: TURBOCHARGED PERFORMANCE

You can expect both excellent fuel economy and exhilarating driving performance in one irresistible package, thanks to the RC 300's 2.0L petrol engine offering direct injection and turbo-intercooled technology.

The engine boasts advanced features abound, including a twin-scroll turbo that minimises the lag traditionally associated with turbocharged vehicles.

Balance is achieved through the engine-stop function which can switch off the engine when stopped to conserve fuel and reduce emissions, ready to spring back to life when you release the brakes.

The RC 300 is also paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with sequential and paddle shift, providing manual-like shifting when desired.

RC 350: V6 PERFORMANCE THRILLS

A vehicle that looks like it's been designed for performance does not disappoint once behind the wheel.

A 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine with Direct Injection and Dual VVT-i delivers an impressive 233kW of power at 6,400rpm and 378Nm of torque at 4,800rpm.

As well, a Sound Amplifying Resonator releases an exciting sporty engine sound during enthusiastic acceleration, lifting the performance thrills of the RC 350 to a new level.

INTEGRATED VEHICLE CONTROL

INTEGRATED VEHICLE CONTROL

Each RC model is fitted with Lexus' advanced Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) which co-ordinates control of the electronic safety features like Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Anti-lock Brakes System (ABS).

This cooperative control allows for each safety system to 'talk' to the other to share information and work together to keep the vehicle on track.

Surprisingly though, you will rarely even know VDIM is working, such is the seamless integration it provides between each safety system.

EIGHT SPEED TRANSMISSION

EIGHT SPEED TRANSMISSION

The RC's 8-Speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) transmission shows two faces.

One is a silky smooth 8-speed automatic and the other a sportier ride courtesy of its rapid-shift manual mode with paddle shifters.

Either way the key aim of the transmission is to provide impressive and engaging acceleration for an undeniably exciting driving experience.

A DIFFERENT MODE FOR EVERY MOOD

A DIFFERENT MODE FOR EVERY MOOD

The RC is fitted with Drive Mode Select with three modes in the Luxury grade and five modes in the F Sport and Sports Luxury variants, adding both SPORT+ and Custom modes to enrich the driving experience.
NORMAL mode delivers a balanced drive suitable for suburban and freeway driving that delivers a true sense of acceleration and smoothness.

Select ECO mode and engine output, throttle opening and air conditioning are optimised for fuel-efficient driving.

As the name suggests, SPORT mode offers greater powertrain and steering responsiveness while SPORT+ goes further to modify the response of the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS), changing the calibration to suit spirited driving.

The Custom mode provides control that suits the driver’s preferences.

RADAR ACTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

RADAR ACTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Radar Active Cruise Control (ACC)2 uses a milliwave radar to monitor vehicles ahead and adjusts acceleration to match their speed. ACC can even use the brakes to slow the vehicle down.

When the vehicle ahead leaves your lane, ACC will smoothly increase the acceleration to resume the speed you had previously set.

F SPORT & SPORTS LUXURY

DYNAMIC REAR STEERING

DYNAMIC REAR STEERING

Fitted to the RC 350 F Sport, Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) offers superior steering response matched to travelling speed and your own steering input.

VGRS provides quick and easy response when parking, optimum steering feel at highway speeds and, with only minimal assistance, it can limit the impulse to overcompensate when steering through a corner.

TORSEN® LIMITED SLIP REAR DIFFERENTIAL

TORSEN® LIMITED SLIP REAR DIFFERENTIAL

For the F Sport grades, rear grip and traction has been significantly improved through the inclusion of a TORSEN Limited Slip Differential (LSD).

The LSD contributes to straight-line handling stability and high-traction during cornering by optimising traction between the rear wheels, helping to transfer power to the wheels that have the best grip.a

ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION

ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION

Whether it's corners or rough surfaces, the driving and road conditions are well catered for in the RC F Sport and Sports Luxury thanks to Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS).

This system helps keep the suspension operating at its peak by controlling the dampening force of the shock absorbers.

For example, when cornering the dampening forces are increased in order to reduce body roll, while on rough surfaces softer settings are adopted to smooth the ride.
